A German supermarket workers found an unexpected surprise in seemingly ordinary banana crates Monday.
The crates, which came from Colombia, arrived at five supermarkets in the Berlin area and contained 309 pounds of cocaine.
German
authorities confiscated the contraband and said Tuesday that smugglers
likely made a “logistical mistake.” The drugs had an estimated street
value of $8.2 million.
